2025 School Board Director Election Information
November 4, 2025
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS OF SCHOOL DIRECTORS
The Hoehne School District RE-3 in the County of Las Animas, State of Colorado, calls for nomination of candidates for school directors to be placed on the ballot for the regular biennial school election to be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
At this election, four (4) directors will be elected representing the following director districts for a term of office of four (4) years:
- Director District Two (2)
- Director District Three (3)
- Director District Five (5)
- Director District Six (6)
To qualify as a candidate for the Hoehne RE-3 School District Board of Education, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a registered elector for at least twelve (12) consecutive months prior to the election and be a current resident of the director district you are running in. Current seats are in school director districts 2, 3, 5, and 6.
- Individuals who have been convicted of a sexual offense against a child are ineligible to run for school director.
- Those aspiring to be candidates for school board director must file a written notice of intention and a nomination petition in accordance with the law.
- A person who desires to be a candidate for school director shall file a written notice of intention to be a candidate and a nomination petition signed by at least twenty-five (25) eligible electors who are registered to vote in the regular biennial school election.
Schedule your petition packet pick-up August 6th – August 29th
Candidate petition packets will be available for pick-up at the Designated Election Official’s office beginning August 6, 2025.
Candidates must pick up their packets in person from the Hoehne School District Designated Election Official, Hannah David. Petitions are located at Hoehne School – 19851 C.R. 75.1, Hoehne, Colorado

Last day to file a nomination petition – August 29, 2025, 4:00pm
August 29, 2025 is the last day for school director candidates to file a nomination petiiton with the circulators’ notarized affidavits, a notarized acceptance of nomination, and a written notice of intent to be a candidate. C.R.S. 1-4-803(2); 22-31-107(2).
Nomination petitions must be submitted by 4:00pm to the Designated Election Official, Hannah David, located at Hoehne School, 19851 C.R. 75.1, Hoehne, Colorado.
2025 SCHOOL DIRECTOR ELECTION
IMPORTANT DATES
- August 6, 2025 – First day a candidate for the office of school director may circulate a nomination petition. No petition shall be circulated prior to this date. C.R.S. 1-4-803(1)(b); 22-31-107(2)
- August 29, 2025, 4:00pm – Last day for school director candidates to file a nomination petiiton with the circulators’ notarized affidavits, a notarized acceptance of nomination, and a written notice of intent to be a candidate. C.R.S. 1-4-803(2); 22-31-107(2).
- August 29, 2025 – Last day for school director write-in candidate to file an affidavit of intent to be a candidate. C.R.S. 1-1-106(5); 1-4-1102(2)
- August 29, 2025 – Last day for a candidate to submit to the county clerk an audio recording of the pronunciation of his or her name exactly as it is provided in the candidates’ statement of intent. 8 CO ADC 1505-1, Rule 4.6.1. – 2.
- November 4, 2025 – ELECTION DAY
