Hoehne School District is following all Las Animas County Health Department guidelines regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). More information will follow as needed and material is being distributed to students and parents to keep all informed as much as possible. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS A VERY FLUID SITUATION AND WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO KEEP YOU UPDATED THROUGH OUR WEBSITE AND MESSAGING SYSTEM.
We have also implemented guidelines provided by CHSAA regarding all CHSAA events, cancelling all practices and events until April 6, 2020. Further decisions will be made at that time.

After much consideration, Hoehne School will be implementing the recommendations of the Las Animas County Health Department and cancelling school this week, March 17th through 20th. As planned for Spring Break, no school will be held the next week March 24th through 27th. The school will be open Tuesday from 8am until noon for students to come in and pick up books from lockers and remove all items from their gym lockers so we can deep clean. Report cards and more info will also be mailed out Tuesday afternoon. Please check our website at www.hoehnesd.org regularly this week for further information regarding lessons and assignments.
Elementary Students: While we are out of school this week, you may work on the Istation site to do Math and Reading Work. Click HERE to obtain information to log on and use your log-in information. The individualized information has also been mailed out with your report cards, if you didn't pick it up from the school today.
JH & High School Students: While we are out of school this week, teachers will be sending assignments through your Infinite Campus Student Portal. Please check there to see assignments and due dates. The assignments can be sent back to the teacher through the portal. As of 3pm today, teachers have already started uploading assignments and you may begin working on them. If you do not have your Infinite Campus Student Portal set up, please see the Student Portal news area on the Home page of our website to find info how to set up your account.
***If you still need into school to pick up books and materials, or if you need help setting up your Student Portal, you may come to the school anytime from 10am to noon on this Thursday, March 19th. Please do not come earlier than this, as doors will be locked and no one will be available. Thanks!
At the School Board meeting last night, the board approved to close the school through April 17, 2020 with an initial start up (return) date of Monday, April 20, 2020 per the executive order by the governor (see below).
The Governor signed an executive order suspending in-person learning in public and private schools across the state from March 23 to April 17. The executive order directs Colorado school districts and the Charter School Institute to make every effort to provide alternative learning opportunities during this time while taking into account the needs of local communities. This order also directs the Commissioner of Education to issue guidance to support P-12 school systems in developing and implementing plans to assist families and students in accessing alternative learning, providing free and reduced lunch and breakfast, and offering waivers for instructional time as appropriate. He also suspended the State assessment requirements and the requirements in C.R.S. § 22-11-204, that CDE determine the level of attainment for each school, district, and the CharterSchool Institute, for Fall 2020.
*Meals will be provided to the community at Hoehne School starting next week. *Prom on April 18th is being postponed. *All State testing has been cancelled for this year. We will not have a performance framework for the 2020 year. It will be carried over from 2019.
*Infinite Campus works best with Chrome or Firefox. *IStation works only with Chrome.
** Meals will be provided to students on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Hoehne School beginning today, March 24, 2020. This will be from the hours of 11:30am and noon. When you pull up outside the cafeteria, the meals will be brought to your vehicle.
** Staff will be in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9am to 11am to take phone calls for questions and to help set up Student Infinite Campus portals.
** Elementary students can check their Student Infinite Campus portals now to see if your teachers have added any additional assignments for you!

Students: There are 3 ways teachers will try to contact you with messages, or regarding assignments. These are 1) via Student Portal on Infinite Campus (make sure you check your messages on your portal also!!) 2) by personal email (if we have it on file) or 3) school email.

Elementary Students: If you are having issues getting onto IStation, there is help contact info on your IStation letter. The problem is with IStation, therefore nothing we can do here at Hoehne School. Here is is the help info also: Visit www.istation.com or call 1-866-883-7323 toll free (press 2), or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
In accordance with the State of Colorado's Governor Office, the order has been given that school will be performed by on-line learning through April 30, 2020.

Per the State of Colorado, Hoehne School will continue ONLINE learning through the end of the 19/20 school year.
Also, all Spring Sports seasons are CANCELLED.
ALL ATHLETES NEED TO TURN IN THEIR RAFFLE TICKETS AND MONEY TO THE SCHOOL BY APRIL 28TH! Please remember the school office is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 9am until at least 11am to pick up homework or drop off money/tickets.
Lunches are also still being served every Tuesday and Thursday in the school parking lot from 11:30am until noon.
The annual MayFair project auction will be held as an EVENT on the Hoehne FFA Facebook page. The actual MayFair event at the school will NOT be held in person. During these uncertain times, we are trying to keep our spirits up and not let our students' hard work go to waste. Our students have continued to work hard and diligently to again bring you quality projects they are proud of for the online auction. Details about the auction and other info can be found at the EVENT on the Hoehne FFA Facebook page. Again, thank you so much for your continued support of our students and school!
